The Nighttime Hair Routine That Buys Me an Extra Day

Wash day is a whole event around here. So anything that stretches it one more day is worth real money to me. This is the five minutes I do before bed, and it is the only reason my curls still look like curls on day four.

YANIBEST Adjustable Double Layer Satin Bonnet

The double layer is the part that matters. Single-layer bonnets slide off by 3am and I wake up with a flat spot on one side. This one has a tie band, so it stays where I put it.

ZIMASILK 100% Pure Mulberry Silk Pillowcase

For the nights the bonnet loses anyway. Cotton drinks up everything I just put in my hair. Silk gives it back.

Kitsch Satin Scrunchies

Pineappling with a regular elastic leaves a dent I cannot brush out. These hold everything up top without the crease in the morning.

Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil

A few drops on my edges and my ends, nothing more. It is thick, so a little goes further than you think.

TaShow Wide Tooth Detangling Comb, 2 Pack

Wide teeth, smooth edges, no snagging. I only comb at night with conditioner or oil already in, never dry.
